I graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Media Arts & Design. After many failed attempts at my dream of becoming an editor at Seventeen magazine, I secured my first job working in the glamorous world of fashion and beauty public relations in NYC.
Later, I went on to work at a tourism marketing agency where I was given the opportunity to produce several television commercials - something I never thought I would do but loved! All this time, I was also working side hustles in the wedding industry for a local planner and local photographer. It was so much fun to me, being a part of making a couple's special day come to life!
I started to realize that maybe my dream job wasn't becoming the next Anna Wintour. As a wedding photographer, I felt like the creative director of someone's dream. Having the ability to tell a story in a beautiful manner - through colors, textures, candid smiles and tears - then showing the story to the couple and their loved ones to relive over and over was what really lit me up.
I am a self-taught photographer. Every time I pick up my camera and begin photographing, I am overcome with joy to get to document one of the best milestones' in two people's lives. I am inspired by people and what makes them them. This is what I try to bottle up on each and every wedding day.
