Jersey Shore brides often dream of those golden hour shots, the sun-kissed portraits, and the perfect beach backdrops. But what happens when Mother Nature decides to drench your perfectly planned day? You dance in the rain, of course! And that’s exactly what we did for Taylor & Ryan’s beautiful wedding at Windows on the Water at Surfrider Beach in Sea Bright.

After a fun time getting ready at The Asbury Hotel, we headed to the church on the white trolley. A beautiful ceremony sealed with a kiss brought us to the venue. The original plan was to take portraits on nearby Sandy Hook, however, when the weather turned, the gracious staff allowed us to utilize the cocktail hour space, which had white floors and ceilings and soft natural light from the large windows.

And what a cocktail space it was! A seafood buffet for days featuring a steel drum for music, mon! Inside the reception, soft touches of blue & white complemented the large narrow room. Friends & family partied all night long to The Cliffs (my wedding band, too!) and enjoyed a live cigar rolling bar after listening to some heartfelt speeches by the bride & groom’s siblings.

Taylor & Ryan’s wedding was a powerful reminder that while we can plan for every detail, the most beautiful moments often unfold organically, especially when you have a couple as genuinely in love as T&R. And as a photographer, it’s a testament to the fact that adverse weather doesn’t mean adverse photos. In fact, it often leads to some of the most memorable and artistic images.
