A Tented Reception in Chesterfield, New Jersey

This music-loving, wanderlusting couple tied the knot in late September with the most perfect weather!

It all started with a simple swipe right on Tinder. But as these things often go, timing wasn’t quite on their side, with Jay living all the way out in Colorado at the time. Fast forward a bit, and the universe—or maybe just a well-timed shift—decided to intervene. Shannon walked into a local bar, and who was behind the counter? None other than Jay. That serendipitous reconnection was the spark that truly ignited their journey.

I actually met Shannon almost ten years ago while working one of very first photography gigs taking photos with Santa Claus (HOL! That’s ho ho ho out loud…) at a tree farm. She would help me print and package the photos! We were only there one fateful holiday season, but it was enough to shake up the tides and start our friendship! To this day Shannon is my hairstylist! 🙂 So of course when she asked me to photograph her wedding day it was a oh heck yes!

Rustic Charm & Elegance

The golden sunset shone angelically over the seasonal zinnia fields at Fernbrook Farms for their outdoor tented wedding. The bohemian details were uniquely S&J – from the rug lined aisle to the macrame arch, complemented with fall hued florals. The bride always dreamed of a sunny wildflower wedding day and the day was served.

Farm-to-table Cuisine

The farm’s celebrated farm-to-table philosophy set the tone, welcoming guests with chef-prepared focaccia and flatbreads paired with dipping oils, alongside a seasonal nibble station featuring heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, and beets grown on the farm, complemented by local artisan cheeses.

The family-style dinner continued the seasonal story with organic herbed chicken and grass-fed Chianti-braised short ribs, served with farm potatoes, carrots, and green beans. Dessert brought a playful finish with a lemon curd and fresh berry wedding cake, followed by a cider donut station that kept the celebration lively into the evening.
