WEDDING DAY

I am SO happy for Rebecca & Kim! Their wedding was absolutely stunning. I am obsessed with their gorgeous flower color choices. The conservatory at The Madison Hotel was a greenhouse lover’s paradise and had the best natural lighting indoors.

Guests loved their giant crossword puzzle game and their temporary tattoo station. I might just have to tell all my future couples to do a confetti pop down the aisle now – how awesome is their just married aisle photo!?

LOVE STORY

Kim and Rebecca’s love story unfolded while they were completing their PhDs at Rutgers University. They first met when Rebecca was interviewing and Kim gave her a tour of campus. Kim remembers knowing right away Rebecca was going to be important to her. At that time, Rebecca knew there were definitely “vibes”.

Over the course of a few months, Kim courted Rebecca with Mac n’ cheese from Wawa, the two sneakily held hands, and adventured in New Jersey together. Rebecca’s odd antics (e.g., taking Kim to smash apples with a baseball bat to relieve stress) and Kim’s joy of the ridiculous made them the perfect pairing.

Fast forward three years and they planned a summer trip to a cabin in Maine. Kim wanted help picking out an engagement ring and reached out to Rebecca’s sister, Gabby. Gabby, not very slyly, asked Rebecca what kind of ring she wanted and Rebecca immediately asked Kim if she had talked with Gabby recently. Kim is admirably a terrible liar but thought she covered well. Kim proposed on the deck at the cabin in Maine, and Rebecca said yes(!); she then walked away, which confused Kim, and returned with a secret handmade beaded rose (in orange, Kim’s favorite color) and proposed right back. Kim was shocked and as they giddily celebrated, their dog Sammi jumped in the lake to celebrate too!
