Valley Forge Park

Stone walls and farmhouses highlight this rustic summer engagement session at the historic Valley Forge National Park for Cassidy & Steve.

THE PROPOSAL

Cassidy & Steve met freshman year of college at Saint Joseph’s University. They both ran track and bonded over their mutual love of the sport. We started dating our freshman year of college and when they get married they will have been together nearly 10 years!

Their love for the outdoors has always been a central part of their relationship over the years. Running, hiking and biking are some of their favorite ways to spend time together. Their favorite vacations have been planned around visits to National Parks.

In May 2022, Steve and Cassidy went for a walk at Hartshorne Woods in Highlands, NJ. As they walked out to the wooden pier on the Navesink River Steve got down on one knee and proposed!

When asked what she loves most about Steve, Cassidy said, “I love Steve’s positivity, thoughtfulness and sense of adventure. He is quick to make others feel included and goes out of his way to meet new people. He is my favorite travel partner for these reasons and I can’t wait to see what marriage and all its adventures have in store for us.”

As for Steve about Cassidy, he said, “I love the way Cassidy makes others feel, including me. She always takes a special interest in the lives of others and makes those around her feel important through active listening and acts of kindness. She is thoughtful and honest, and because of this I know I can completely trust her.”

CASSIDY & STEVE’S ENGAGEMENT SESSION

It was a hot and muggy evening, but Cassidy & Steve managed to ~glisten~ not sweat for photos! The two currently reside in Pennsylvania and wanted a setting that captured their adventurous, outdoor spirit. Valley Forge National Park is a historic mass of land with green rolling hills, old stone farmhouses and more. It is naturally scenic, and a popular spot for all. We explored the area known as Knox’s Quarters (even ventured inside an old chicken coop!) and made our way over to the Philander Chase Knox Estate, too, a rustic wedding venue in the middle of the park. The lighting was superb! I am obsessed with how beautiful these two photographed together!

Congratulations, C&S! I cannot wait to capture your wedding next Fall at the Jersey Shore!
