If there’s one couple that knows how to throw a party – it’s Jenna & Frank. These two Philly lovebirds planned their wedding under six months and knew exactly what they wanted.
When I first spoke to Jenna on the phone, she emphasized snagging lots of candid pictures of their friends and family on the dance floor. They wanted to have some fun! I loved how traditionally untraditional this couple was. Jenna’s sisters wore white just like her! We took some sensational sunset photos down by the dock and beach. Once we got to the reception, you could feel the love from their families all around. They were SO happy for this wedding. And after hearing the beautiful speeches from their siblings (including an amazing take on the Fresh Prince rap about J&F’s love story!!), I knew this couple was perfect for each other.
In the words of Frank… “I was throwing a birthday party for my roommate, our officiant Joe. Jenna showed up to the party. I was definitely interested, although I didn’t think she was as interested in me. We ended up meeting up at the Fado Irish pub and danced the night away. We went out a bunch of times after that night and began to grow closer. Unfortunately, Jenna didn’t like her job in Philly and ended up moving back to New York a few months after we met. From there we both dated a little, but nothing serious. We kept in touch over those four years. I guess you can say that I always knew she was the ‘one’ even through all the years and distance.
A couple years later, Jenna was in Philly for the weekend and we went to the Vance Joy concert (one of our favorite artists) and picked up right where we left off 4 years ago (singing and dancing the night away, like the first time we met). We ended up doing the long distance thing for around a year and a half from NY to Philly, then we took the leap and moved in together.
Eventually, I planned a proposal. I always wanted to do it in Lavallette, but it was a free weekend and Jenna didn’t want to travel. We both love hiking and ended up going for a hike in Ridley State Park. We went off the path (to use the bathroom) and from there I just got on one knee and proposed to the love of my life. We finished the hike just us two, enjoying our special moment, and we drove down the shore to meet with our whole family in Brigantine, NJ and had an amazing celebration!”
