Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding Editorial

Any wedding at Mallard is a dream in my book. The boathouse chapel with the ceiling high rock fireplace is an elegant nautical space to say “I do!” Pink and purple aren’t colors you see often together (or at least hear about) for a wedding. I can’t think of many grooms that would agree to it, honestly. BUT! Once you see it come together, it alllll makes sense.

It isn’t a wedding that looks like Barbie’s. It’s a funky, chic palette that shows off a bold couple’s personalities. I LOVE pops of color at weddings. Too little do I see colors like green, orange, and purple take center stage. Let’s change that!

This editorial shoot hosted by LBI wedding planner Bogath Events and the island’s own Bay Magazine proves that fuchsia and eggplant colors, when combined right, aren’t just FUN, but sleek and sophisticated. Blend in these colors by using a patterned table runner, or bright colored taper candles. Mismatched china and a bright envelope will certainly catch guests’ attention. Even go as far as incorporating the colors in your food and dessert choices – like this one did with the cupcake frosting and yummy strawberry smoothies.
