A Crossed Keys Garden Wedding

A Rainy Wedding Day in Andover

Theresa & Andrew tied the knot on a rainy day in August at the beautiful Crossed Keys Estate. Despite the humid droplets, the day was simply stunning – and a nice break in the weather allowed us to capture some pretty portraits on the grounds sans umbrella right before the reception! From their “walking in the rain” shots to the beautiful garden backdrop, these two were on cloud nine all day.

Theresa wore a patterned gown designed by Rebecca Schoneveld with her bridesmaids by her side in Jenny Yoo & Revelry. Andrew and his groomsmen wore matching tuxes with bow-ties, including the ring bearer, that perfectly completed the whole look.

T & A’s love shows through the camera, especially during their First Look. What was really funny was during the planning process, both Theresa and Andrew individually reached out to me about surprising the other one with a gift during their private vow reading. It was quite comical getting those two separate emails – but I quietly kept their secrets until the big reveal!

I loved hanging out with these two nature lovers – we first met the previous year during their engagement session at a forest-filled park in northern NJ (after our attempt at doing it on the ski lift of Mountain Creek Resort failed, womp). The two actually discovered my work through their high school friends, another ALP couple (from my early days), so it was a blast seeing them all together on the dance floor!

Love Story

Andrew & Theresa coincidentally both had plans to ski Mt. Snow within 12 hours of matching each other on Hinge. After Theresa alluded to Andrew’s texts all day, her friends “ditched” her, and forced the two to do a run together, which goofily ended in Andrew crashing into a tree! Now after four and a half years together they can say they’re huge snow people – Theresa is a skier and Andrew is a snowboarder and the two spend most of their weekends November through April on the mountain as a couple, with friends and with family.

The Proposal

Theresa recalls their engagement as “absolutely perfect!” Keeping on theme, Andrew rented a snow cat at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont to have sunrise first tracks. Andrew chose Sugarbush because the two discovered the magic of it together and it holds a special place in their hearts. He coordinated with the mountain staff to have a private photographer document the whole thing and was also in cahoots with Sugarbush to have excuses as to why they had a private cat and photographer to avoid any suspicion!

Andrew then surprised her at the bottom of the mountain with both of her brothers, his brothers, and their significant others. They were also there with a huge group of skiers from Theresa’s high school days, which has expanded to include many more people. None of those from the group knew it was happening, so all of the celebrations were spontaneous and authentic. The group then spent the day skiing and celebrating! To close out the weekend, the two had dinner with both of their parents to reminisce on the weekend, share their excitement and celebrate with them.
