Princeton University Engagement Photos

There is something so sophisticated about photos on the campus of Princeton University. Just breathing in the air while walking around makes you feel… *smarter*. Strolling through the gothic architecture reminds me of being at Hogwarts and an old President’s homestead simultaneously.

We started our session in front of the iconic ivy-strewn Nassau Hall. We were extremely lucky that the students were on their fall break when we planned to be there, making it a lot less crowded than it could have been! Located right on Nassau Street, Nassau Hall was built in 1756 and is a central landmark to the prestigious college. We spent some time here getting bright and airy portraits with the stunning fall foliage in the background. Rebecca’s jewel tone skirt was a pop of autumn color against the reds, yellows and oranges.

Next, we moved down to Whig and Clio Halls, which look like Greek temples, for some gorgeous wide landscape portraits!

The cute couple then did an outfit change for a few more photos. Rebecca surprised me with another fun fall hue that I LOVED – mustard pants! Everything complemented each other so well. We hit the East Pyne Building just in time for golden hour to grab an epic dip shot with the light leak in the arch! This hall was built in the 1800s and originally served as the library but today houses language and humanities classrooms.

Congratulations to Rebecca & Alex and thank you for choosing me to document this significant part of your love story!

Why Choose Princeton for your Photos

As a New Jersey wedding photographer, I have travelled all over the state for engagement sessions and have to say Princeton remains in my top three.

For couples looking for sophisticated, editorial-style backdrops with a city-like feel (without traveling to the big cities), Princeton is the place to be. The results are timeless, classic and romantic. The white marble provides a gorgeous reflective surface on any subject’s skin tone!

A lot of this has to do with the fact that there are countless facades to choose from. Greek temple structures, brownstone buildings, ivy walls – even blooming gardens (check out Kelly & Cody’s Summer Engagement Session at Prospect Gardens at Princeton University). Plus, all are within walking distance, making your engagement session a three, four or five for one look!
