Hudson Valley Wedding
It’s a little hard to be sad when your last name is Happe! Despite a rainy forecast, these two didn’t catch a drop at their Hudson Valley wedding!
Their Love Story
Sarah and Mike met on Hinge in December of 2020. While both are from NJ, they started dating long distance as Sarah was still in grad school in Delaware. When asked what they love most about each other, Mike said, “My favorite thing about Sarah is her dedication to her faith, her family, and the future we plan to have together. Her smile/laughter is infectious and always makes me smile!”
While she was doing clinicals across the country, Mike made trips to New Mexico and Baltimore to spend time wit her. “Mike has such a big heart, a knack for making people feel comfortable and loved, and a mindset of putting others first,” says Sarah fondly, “He always thoughtfully puts in the extra effort for the little things.”
When the two were both back in New Jersey, they could finally see what normal life was like together and the pieces fell into place. They love bonding over shared hobbies and interests like their faith, CrossFit, tennis/pickleball, family, cooking/wanna-be foodies, biking and anything outside.
Mike proposed at the Laurelwood Arboretum, followed by a surprise lunch with their parents. When it came time for me to photograph their engagement session, we couldn’t not do it at the Laurelwood Arboretum!
Their Wedding
Set against the stunning red barn at Venue: The Barn at Villa Venezia and the rolling hills of the Hudson Valley, it was impossible for Sarah & Mike to take a bad photo together. And let’s be real, they’re both just very attractive people and knew how to WERK IT. I loved hanging out with these two all day and Sarah’s hilarious bridesmaids (who were lifting dumbells during getting ready!) all day.
The bright floral bouquets, pastel blue dresses, and classic white & greenery combo made everything feel dreamy and elegant. Guests loved trying their luck on their lottery ticket favors and biting into their funfetti wedding cake. And talk about a tear jerker – Sarah’s 100-year-old grandmother even sauntered down the aisle in a flowered out walker!
