Sarah & Zach | The Highlawn | West Orange, New Jersey

Known for its iconic, panoramic views of the New York City skyline, The Highlawn restaurant located in West Orange, New Jersey proved to be the perfect location for Zach to pop champagne after popping the question right outside at Eagle Rock Reservation.

Zach & Sarah met in college and purchased their first home together this past year. Other weekend festivities planned for them included a housewarming party (which may or may not have also been an engagement party!) to celebrate their new beginning.

I love photographing proposals. They are such an important day in your life! I worked with Zach to plan out the quick timeline of events that included me hiding in the bushes twice, since our plan A to have him drop to a knee at the gazebo foiled after another couple taking photos strolled in. I actually LOVE that it worked out this way though and he proposed in front of the New York City skyline instead! As the sun set and the drizzle of rain started, the two celebrated with an elegant, upscale dinner in an impressive setting at The Highlawn.

I am so happy for these two and their new exciting adventures!

What it’s Like to Hire a New Jersey Proposal Photographer

When hiring me as your proposal photographer, we’ll chat about location, times, and back-up weather plans. (Proposals are not easy to postpone due to rain. You don’t want your partner getting a hint at what’s to come!). It is helpful if you are able to scout the location and send photos to me, too, of where you plan on having your big moment happen so I am prepared as you walk over! Most proposals take less than a minute. So after the hugs, kisses, happy tears, and maybe a toast, I work with you on taking some easy breezy portraits that you will remember the day with for the rest of your marriage!
