Bernardsville Engagement

What a gorgeous evening Emma & Ryan had at Cross Estate Gardens for their Bernardsville engagement session!

While these two love birds initially met in college, they didn’t start dating until years later. They plan to wed next summer in Connecticut, where Emma grew up! Together they have an adorable mutt pup named Buzz. For their engagement session, they wanted to be surrounded by gardens and show off their playful side! I love the photo of Ryan picking up Emma as it really shows off their personalities for this shoot!

The historic park was PACKED when we went. It was the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend, so we figured it was because most people had off – and were taking advantage of the nice weather!

No matter how many times I visit Cross Estate Gardens, I am always finding fresh angles to photograph from, and new flora and fauna depending on the season. Rhododendrons usually bloom for about three weeks in the spring. (I currently have some outside my front door!) I was in shock and awe at the gigantic tree with the rhododendron blooms right before you enter the garden. Immediately I knew we would be taking photos in front of it. Typically, that area is just green, but the fuchsia florals created such a nice POP of color!
