New York City Engagement
Ellen & Jose are your classic NYC couple. Both grew up outside the city but call the Big Apple home now. They met through mutual friends and enjoy exploring new places around the city and spending time on their apartment’s rooftop!
Their Love Story
“I told his friend I thought he was cute – and the word got back to him. The rest is history!” says Ellen. The couple dated for a few years and eventually moved in together. Jose proposed on the rooftop of their Queens apartment building with lots of candles, stars and the NYC skyline as a backdrop.
“I love the confidence Jose has always had in us; his sense of certainty and dedication makes me feel very loved. He is always wanting to be the best person he can be for me. He is silly, thoughtful, kind, smart, among so many other things- I feel like the luckiest girl,” says Ellen when asked what she loves most about her fiance.
As for Jose, he says, “I love how much she cares. She cares about people and genuinely wants the best for them. She cares about me so much and I can feel her love by the little things she does for me that show me she cares. She always wants what is best for us and our future together. I love her intelligence too! It’s amazing to hear about all the great work she does to help people. Her willingness to play along with my silliness helps keep things light and fun!”
(OK, I’m officially cryin’…)
Engagement Session
The three of us had so much fun finding new spots around their favorite park, Gantry Plaza State Park. Gantry Plaza State Park is quite long and includes tons of open space, a few docks, a volleyball court, food area and more. My favorite spot for photos was on the rocks near the river! I also loved using the vintage Pepsi-Cola sign and Long Island sign as a backdrop for their champagne pop.
Congratulations, E&J and thank you for letting me capture your engagement photos for you!
