Engagement sessions are so much fun and provide so many benefits. They give you a chance to meet and interact with your photographer in-person before your wedding day (moi!), and most importantly, prepare you with the poses, prompts and confidence needed to nail your portraits at the BIG event.

Looking for the best place to propose in New Jersey? There happen to be a lot of them!

When preparing for your family photo shoot, it’s important to coordinate your outfits for a cohesive look. Select a color scheme and use colors that complement each other. Avoid everyone wearing the same thing to look too matchy-matchy and logos. Some should be in patterns, while others should be in plain colors. Consider the location you’re taking photos, the time of year, your skin tones, even where in your home you plan to hang these photos. Lay out everyone’s outfit next to each other (if you can) beforehand to see if there’s a nice flow.

This adorable couple joined me on a sunkissed evening in Manasquan, New Jersey for their sweet summertime engagement session! The lighting was just beautiful. Michele & Alex weren’t afraid to get their feet wet (literally) so we had so much fun splashing around in the surf for some candid shots. The two had an infectious laugh and giggled the whole time!
