To celebrate their five year wedding anniversary with family and friends, Kayla and Mike came home to New Jersey and partied it up at the intimate Cross & Orange restaurant and event space in the eclectic Asbury Park.

WEDDING DAY

After a week of rain, the sun was shining bright for these two wonderful people. The love these two have for each other is admirable and I’m having such trouble picking out my favorite photos because they just look stunning in all of them! K&M were actually already married, but didn’t get the chance to do it all with all their family and friends in their home state. They decided an Asbury Park wedding on exactly their 5 year anniversary to celebrate. Their colors were blush and white with greenery, which were so soft and gorgeous for a spring wedding day. We spent time for portraits on the Asbury Park Boardwalk and around the Asbury Hotel before heading to Cross & Orange for the ceremony and reception. I am obsessed with the photos we took at the Wonder Bar – K&M were having so much fun!

LOVE STORY

As told by Kayla… “Mike and I actually met through a mutual friend and instantly hit it off, though we didn’t speak again for a while. Months passed and he decided to reach out before he left for the Air Force. We both fell pretty hard for each other quickly, and only had about 3 months together before he left for basic training. I stayed in NJ for the next year, with plans to move to Nebraska when the school year was over. Mike came home for Christmas and we spent every second together. One day in January when we were talking on the phone, we just decided, “What are we waiting for?!” and planned a tiny ceremony in Omaha, NE on April 8, 2017. We only had about 10 family members there and it was great! Our vow renewal falls exactly on our 5 year wedding anniversary 🙂 We are so excited to spend this day with all of our family and friends this time around!”
